The Executive Board of the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education adopted the following position at its meeting on 25 January 2024:

The European Students’ Union and the Student Council for Higher Education called upon the Slovak Accreditation Agency for Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as the “Agency”) to determine to what extent Comenius University in Bratislava complies with the quality standards set by Slovak legislation about non-discrimination and the review of complaints by which a student seeks the protection of his/her rights or legally protected interests.

The Agency is currently conducting an assessment of the compliance of the internal quality assurance system for higher education and its implementation with the Standards for the Internal System at Comenius University in Bratislava. This is a complex process, the course of which is determined by national legislation and the Agency’s internal regulations, which are based on the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG 2015). Students with international experience in external quality assurance in higher education are also involved in the assessment process. The assessment results and the evaluation of the fulfillment of the individual standards will be published after the whole process has been completed. Until then, the Agency will not publicly communicate any partial findings and value judgments related to the assessment.
